LIFE & Zabra buy project site for student housing on the Bavière-site in Liège.

LIFE & Zabra are pleased to announce the acquisition of a project site intended for student housing. The site is part of the large-scale Bavière area development, located on Outremeuse Island. Next to the project site are the new cultural centre B3, the future provincial college HEPL (3,000 students) and the Ecole Supérieure des Arts Saint-Luc. The site is a stone’s throw from the bustling centre of Liège and is being acquired from the BPI/Thomas & Piron Bâtiment/Urba Liège consortium. Bavière has a rich history as a hospital site and is currently being transformed into a new multifuncional district with a library, numerous services, education and a wide range of new housing for all generations, embedded in a car-free and newly landscaped public space with pedestrian boulevards, squares and quality greenery. LIFE & Zabra propose a development of some 260 student rooms and studios. The plans are already being drawn up by SIA Architects from Namur. The permit application will be submitted by summer 2025 and the ambition is to start construction in early 2026 so that the first students can move in for the 2027-2028 academic year, simultaneously with the opening of HEPL’s new college campus.
